Degrees and Programs
Designed to serve students seeking careers in music education or performance, the Associate in Music degree offers students foundational music training in technical and academic areas such as:
- music theory
- ear training
- sight singing
- individual instruction
- ensemble participation
- basic keyboard skills
This degree prepares students for transfer to baccalaureate music programs at participating Washington state colleges and universities, and meets the requirements for the statement Direct Transfer Agreement.
Dramatic experience provides insights into the complex motivation for human behavior. Students interested in acting can complete an associate degree or begin studies to transfer to a baccalaureate program. Drama courses can also be an important supplement for those who plan to major in the humanities or social sciences.
At LCC, students may select beginning and advanced courses in a variety of:
- artistic media
- including design
- drawing
- ceramics
- graphic design
- painting
- photography
A solid base in studio art combined with art history provides the basic liberal arts foundation essential for those interested in entering an art profession or transferring to complete a bachelor’s degree in art.
Get Involved
LCC offers a variety of concerts, plays, art shows, lectures, writer's workshops, readings and other arts, entertainment and cultural events! Students, community members and college employees are welcome and encouraged to attend. Most events are free of charge.
Join the RCA’s Volunteer Team!
Support the performing arts at LCC by becoming a volunteer usher for the Rose Center for the Arts. Volunteer ushers are responsible for duties such as scanning tickets, handing out programs, and directing patrons. Our volunteer ushers get to choose their own schedule and enjoy free performances!
