The Early Priority Registration Program makes provision for eligible students approved
by the Disability and Access Services (DAS) Director.
Early Priority Registration usualy occurs usually eight weeks prior to the start of
the quarter.
Such disabilities may include disabilities that affect mobility, vision, or hearing.
The program relies on student cooperation to facilitate the registration process.
The following procedures identify the responsibilities of the DAS Office and the student.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The student must provide the DAS Office with documentation verifying the need for
priority registration. Documentation may not be required of students with obvious
physical disabilities (Examples include: students with accommodations that take time
to implement such as: interpreters, alternate format, audio books, and accessible
furniture).
- Students must be in good financial standing with the College.
- Students must be in good academic standing with the College.
Student Responsibilities:
- Students must comply with all academic assessment, advising and registration deadlines.
- Students working with the DAS Coordinator designated as the disabilities specialist
must:
- Meet with their academic advisor during the scheduled time, and come prepared with
their tentative schedule completed.
- Students must meet all financial obligations to the College within the time deadlines
designated for registration periods.
- Students must have assessment scores or recommendations for appropriate levels of
English, reading and math prior to registering or enrolling in these classes.
- Students are not guaranteed to be reminded of registration dates and it is the student's
responsibility to enroll early.
DAS Responsibilities:
The person identified to work with disabled students will work with the Registration
Office to assure early registration.
