Testing is already stressful enough. Being prepared helps. Read on to learn more about our test proctoring options for online students, as well as what you’ll need to do in advance.
LCC supports two online test proctoring services: HonorLock and ProctorU. Most fully online courses will use one of these platforms, but some courses, like online Spanish, are set up differently.
For students that do not want to use Honorlock, most proctored quizzes are available in the Test Proctoring Center without Honorlock. Talk to your instructor about this option as soon as possible!
The cost of a ProctorU test depends on how long the exam is and how far in advance you schedule it. Tests scheduled less than 72 hours in advance are charged an additional fee. For exams scheduled more than 72 hours in advance pricing starts at $8.75 for exams that are 30 minutes or less and maxes out at $42.50 for exams lasting 181 minutes or more. For exams scheduled less than 72 hours in advance, pricing ranges from $13.75 to $51.25.
Yes! ProctorU requires that you schedule an appointment. Please note, tests scheduled less than 72 hours in advance come with an additional charge, with tests scheduled within one hour of their start time incurring an even higher charge. This can increase your testing price by nearly $10, so schedule early!
Appointments stay active for 15 minutes past their start time. After 15 minutes, the appointment is canceled. Refunds are only available for tests canceled more than 72 hours in advance. If you miss or cancel your appointment you will need to reschedule.
Login to your ProctorU account! Do not access ProctorU tests through Canvas. You will log in to Canvas after your test proctor verifies you and your work space.
For students that do not want to use ProctorU, most proctored quizzes are available in the Test Proctoring Center without ProctorU. Talk to your instructor about this option as soon as possible!
Most online proctored tests can be taken at the Test Proctoring Center without having to use HonorLock or ProctorU. This is a great option for students that are able to come to campus but may not have the technology or funding to take tests through HonorLock or ProctorU. Talk to your instructor about the possibility of this option right away.
Online Spanish tests do not use HonorLock or ProctorU, but they do require a test proctor. For students near LCC, tests are taken in the Test Proctoring Center. For students far away, tests are arranged at a remote proctor, such as a public library or other community college. Contact Alex Emerson, our Spanish instructor, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about Online Spanish.
