Active Projects
Center for Vocational and Transitional Studies
The Center for Vocational and Transitional Studies is a new 46,669 SF three-story facility that replaces four outdated buildings on campus. This building will house the college’s Welding, Fabrication, and Machining programs, College and Career Preparation programs, Workforce, and Information Technology programs. The project will be located at the existing Lot C parking lot on the east side of campus along 15th Avenue. A new, similarly sized parking lot will be constructed in place of the demolished buildings to the west.
Indoor Softball and Soccer Facilities
Lower Columbia College boasts the premier junior college men’s baseball program in the Northwest. Our historic Story Field at the heart of our campus is beloved by the thousands of athletes and visitors who use it every year. Now 60 years old, we must address limitations by improving grandstands, lighting, and the entrance.
Additionally, the College shares many outdoor athletic facilities with area clubs and schools, and as a result, these facilities are heavily used and long overdue for upgrades and maintenance. Now is the time to invest in facilities for the LCC women’s soccer team and women’s softball team, in partnership with the community, to provide year-round, accessible fields and amenities that will allow them to reach their potential.
Completed Projects

Health and Science Building
The Lower Columbia College Health and Science Building houses all LCC healthcare and science programs. The new HSB building replaced three older vocational and science buildings, consolidating programs under a single roof for the first time in the college's 80-year history.
Technology-enabled classrooms and labs, outfitted with the latest in scientific equipment, prepare students for in-demand careers in science, engineering, nursing, and other healthcare fields.

Myklebust Gymnasium and Fitness Center
Students led the effort to renovate the Gym & Fitness Center through a fee of $2.50 per credit in tuition. The project was completed in 2014. It supports the current and future instructional needs of the college, brings the entire facility into ADA compliance, and doubles the space available for athletic activities, health-related classes and activities, and other uses. Building house programs such as Red Devils Athletics, Physical Education, and Continuing Education.
