Gina Challed joined the LCC faculty in 2011 as lead voice instructor and director of choirs. Gina has performed operatic roles and concerts around the world, including England, Italy, Germany and New York City. Most recently, Gina was a featured soloist with the Portland Symphonic Choir, Bach Cantata Choir, and Southwest Washington Symphony. She also performed with the LCC choir at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2015.

Gina currently resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband and two daughters, Ava Renae and Lillian Grace. She is happily juggling her dual roles as mother and tenured faculty member at LCC.

Rob Davis

Symphonic Band Director, Music Theory and French Horn instructor, Chair of Performing and Visual Arts department

Rob Davis directs the LCC Symphonic Band, teaches music theory and French Horn, and chairs the performing and visual arts department.

After graduating with honors from Brigham Young University, Rob earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California. While at USC, Rob was honored to receive the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society's Outstanding Musical and Academic Achievement Award.

In addition to his duties at LCC, Rob has been the conductor and musical director of the Southwest Washington Symphony since 2013. He has directed bands, choirs, and orchestras of all sizes and levels.

A French horn player by specialty and prize winner in five national solo and chamber music competitions, Rob has played horn with the Utah Symphony, the Utah Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra at Temple Square, and numerous theatrical orchestras. He has also performed on over 100 recording studio projects for films, television programs, advertisements, and video games.

Rob has performed in concert with a diverse array of musicians, including Frederica von Stade, The King's Singers, Peter Cetera, Debbie Reynolds, Lone Star, Lucy Lawless, and Jason Castro. Performance tours have taken Rob to Italy, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, England, Scotland, and Wales.

Ryan Meagher

Jazz Ensemble Director and guitar instructor

Ryan Meagher (pronounced Marr) is a jazz guitarist and composer who launched his international reputation in New York City in 2003 after completing his bachelor of music degree at San Diego State University.

He spent his first few years in New York discovering his compositional voice and honing his improvisational craft. During this period he launched his debut album Sun Resounding, announcing his arrival on the modern jazz scene. Shortly after the success of his second album entitled Atroefy on Fresh Sound New Talent Records, he attended the University of Nevada, Reno, to earn his master of music degree in pursuit of a career directing his own college jazz program. His third album Tone, was recorded in NYC in between his studies at UNR. It received international critical acclaim.

After completing his master's degree Meagher relocated to Portland, Oregon where he quickly became a recognizable force in the creative music community. Along with releasing his fourth record Tango In the City of Roses, he has been instrumental in expanding the scene. He is a co-founder and Programming Director of the Montavilla Jazz Festival, Director of Operations of the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble, Director of PJCE Records, Director of Portland State University's The Shed Summer Jazz Workshop, Editor of the Jazzscene Magazine, Marketing and Advertising Consultant for the Oregon Coast Jazz Party, and was interim Director of Jazz Studies at Mt. Hood Community College before taking his vision to the Lower Columbia College Jazz Ensemble. His fifth album as a leader is called Mist. Moss. Home.
