Applicants for teacher education programs in the State of Washington are required to demonstrate basic skill competency in reading, writing, and math. This requirement may be met by taking the Washington Educator Skills Test (WEST-B) in reading, writing, and mathematics. Additional teaching endorsements may be added by completing National Evaluation Series (NES) exams.

Here's what you need to know:
All testing registration, scheduling and score reporting will be managed through the Washington Educator Skills Test website. Visit the Washington Educator Skills Test website to create an account. You will be able to register, pay for the exam, view test dates and locations, as well as view your scores and find preparation materials.
Test takers requesting accommodations must visit this link WEST Alternative Testing Arrangements and have their accommodations approved before their test can be scheduled.
Your request should be submitted as early as possible, especially if you are requesting an alternate test format. Documentation review takes approximately six weeks once your request and complete paperwork have been received. If additional documentation must be submitted, it can be another six weeks from the time the new documentation is received until the review is complete.
Lower Columbia College Testing Center offers West-B testing Monday through Friday during regular Testing Hours.
The West B exams: Reading (2 hours), Writing (3 hours), Math (2 hours)
If all subjects are taken at one time, the total exam time is 5 hours for all subjects combined. There are no scheduled breaks during West exams.

Yes, LCC also offers the National Evaluation Series (NES) Endorsement exams during
the same testing hours. Costs and passing scores may vary. For more information about
NES exams, please visit nestest.com.
