Congratulations to our 2023 graduates!

Last year, you helped raise over $33,000 in Student Success Funds. Our goal for 2023 is to raise $35,000. Because of your generosity, our most at-risk students now have the chance to get one step closer to achieving their higher educational goals!

On Sunday, March 19, The Daily News featured the story of LCC student Vidal Villagran, who received a Student Success grant that transformed his life. Daily News subscribers can read Vidal's story here. Non-subscribers can read about Vidal here

About the Student Success Fund

The Foundation provides at least $50,000 annually to assist students who are most at risk for abandoning their education due to financial hardship. Student Success funds not only help students in need with emergency funding, but also help the college maintain quality instruction because the funds stay on campus. Since the inception of LCC’s Student Success Fund, we have awarded over $585,207 in emergency grants to nearly 1000 students. The average student award is around $600.

These one-time grants mean the difference between success and failure for students who are on their way to graduation.

The Student Success Fund helps students with:

  • Tuition and fees not covered by scholarships, financial aid or grants
  • Testing fees
  • Tools and other school supplies
  • Emergency housing and heating costs
  • Emergency childcare expenses
  • Emergency transportation
  • Other unforeseen emergency expenses barring students from degree completion
