The Lower Columbia College Foundation, in partnership with LCC Athletics, hosts a yearly Athletics Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony and Banquet.
All proceeds benefit the Athletic Excellence Fund in support of athletic scholarships and programs.
Earnest took LCC Athletics to unprecedented heights as Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach. He had record of 204 wins and 89 losses and captured five league titles. He was responsible for leading a program that captured 13 conference championships in varioous team sports. Gary was also instrumental in establishing women's athletics at LCC. Earnest served 20 years as an NWAACC Commissioner, earning him induction into the NWAACC Hall of Fame.
Deanne Nelson was one of the first female stars to excel in two sports at LCC. As a basketball player, Nelson was a two-time MVP and twice named All-League. She was also a two-time MVP on the LCC volleyball team. She went on to play basketball at Eastern Washington University. Deanne then served as head volleyball coach at LCC. She then had basektball coaching stints at Gonzaga and Boise State. Nelson returned once again and was head coach for the Red Devil basektball team in 1993.
Quinney played two seasons of basketball at LCC where he became one of just 10 players to score over 1,000 points. He is the sixth highest scorer in school history and 9th in assists. Quinney also had the school record for most 3 pointers made with 155. Michael went on to San Jose State University where he was named first-team All-WAC Conference.
